The State Accountability System and

the School Improvement Process

The federal No Child Left Behind Act mandates that each state implement a public school testing system, known in Vermont as the State Accountability System.  The term "School Improvement Process" refers to the actions a school must take under the State Accountability System when its scores on state tests fall below targets set by the State.  In 2009-2010, Johnson Elementary is in Year 2 of School Improvement.

Use the links on the left menu to learn more about the State Accountability System and the School Improvement Process, including information about eligibility for Supplemental Educational Services (outside tutoring services paid for by the school available to students eligible for free/reduced-price meals).
