CHAPERONES & VOLUNTEERS AT JES

There are a variety of ways to become involved as a volunteer at Johnson Elementary.  Chaperoning field trips and other special events is one of the most common volunteer activities for parents and grandparents.  The PTA sponsors special events and fund-raising activities that depend on parent volunteers.  The school also depends on parents of 5th and 6th graders to lead annual fund-raising efforts for the annual 5/6 team trip. Individual classroom teachers solicit parent volunteers to support various activities in their classrooms.

Anyone who volunteers at JES must agree to have a Child Abuse & Neglect Registry check conducted by the Vermont Dept. of Children and Families.  In addition, anyone who wishes to chaperone school events must submit a Chaperone Agreement, which must be approved by the Principal.

Three forms are attached below to be downloaded and printed:

  • Chaperone Agreement
  • Child Abuse & Negect Registry Records Check Authorization Form
  • Parent Involvement Survey

These forms were sent home on the first day of school with all students. You may request these forms from the school office at any time (635-2211 ext. 0).

Also attached is the current School Board policy on volunteers.
